Lynn B. Friedman - Atlanta Homes ODAT Realty: Atlanta Buckhead Midtown - 2-Step Authentication Online Now Essential

Atlanta Buckhead Midtown -
2-Step Authentication Online Now Essential

In Atlanta Buckhead Midtown and everywhere else, 2-Step Authentication Online is now essential. Long gone are the days of one password for everything each of us does online. LONG GONE...

In a previous post about using online group chat interactions to Video Challenge Social Distancing, Discord, ZoomFaceTime and DUO  were mentioned. Since 2015, Discord has bolstered interactions for gamers. Due to the astronomical increase of usage, Discord added 2Factor Authentication as a feature to its application.

Watch Discord's video reminder about employing 2Factor Authentication Online:

Extra security is no longer a luxury.

Robert Siciliano ActiveRain member and CEO of IDTheftSecurity, Inc. in Boston MA, is "fiercely committed to informing, educating, and empowering" others to stay safe from bad-actors. Sometimes, he even warns us about ourselves as in a recent post about cell phone addiction. He also warned about the risks of Remote Desktop software.

Check out Robert's Blog - learn a lot about security - he is generous with his knowledge.

Google offers 2-Step Verification for everything in your Google Account. That adds another layer of protection for the data you rely on every day.

2-Step Verification works by requiring - yes - you got it - an additional step and a few extra seconds before you get to work. When you put in your password to open your Google program, you receive a reply with an empty text box asking you to enter the code sent to your mobile phone. This means you not only have the data repository with you but also your cell phone to receive the code. Hence -- 2-Step Verification or 2Factor Authentication ...

Protect yourself - sometimes we humans don't realize how much we needed something until it is gone... The last thing any of us wants or needs now is more stress as we adapt to the pandemic requirements of social distancing and working from home.

Good morning Lynn. What I first saw as a pain is now considered a benefit. Enjoy your day!

Lynn the two step authentication is a bit of a pain in the donkey, BUT better a pain in the donkey than to have your personal information hacked.  So I for one welcome the two step authentication.
