Nov 3rd Fall Back Time

Sunday night, November 3rd -- Set Clocks Back!!!!

Sleep Another Hour!!!!!

Yes, it is that time already - Fall has arrived and it is time to change the clocks!

History tells us that New Zealand scientist George Vernon Hudson and British builder William Willett brought up the idea in 1895. Hudson presented a paper to the Wellington Philosophical Society, proposing a 2-hour shift forward in October and a 2-hour shift back in March. Check out the website TimeandDate.com for lots more stories.

While many people know that Germany and Austria were the first countries to institute Daylight Savings Time, not so many know that some citizens of CANADA were the first to actaually do it

On July 1, 1908, the residents of Port Arthur, Ontario, today's Thunder Bay, turned their clocks forward by one hour to start the world's first DST period.

Daylight Saving Time is now used in over 70 countries worldwide and affects over one billion people every year. The beginning and end dates may vary.

In Mainland United States, only Arizona exercises the right given in the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to abstain from participation in DST. The state (mostly) stays on Standard Time all year long. Our island state of Hawai'i does not use DST and neither do territories, such as Puerto RicoGuam, and the US Virgin Islands.

Here at Atlanta Homes ODAT Realty, we are available all year around -- regardless of the time. Call us about your real estate needs!  404-939-2727

Good morning Lynn. I will be screwed up for a couple of weeks. Repeat in the Spring! Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Lynn... can't wait to get back that hour I lost last spring... I've been missing that hour for months!

Hi Lynn:

Hard to believe we are sending out messages for yet another time change.

I am missing the light in the evenings already. I wish we could just leave the time one way or the other and stop switching twice a year.

While I look forward to the extra hour of sleep that will occur, I hate returning to standard time because the evenings are dark longer.

Lynn I enjoyed the extra hour sleep, but I wish the would stop the turning the clock back and forth.
