Lynn B. Friedman   Is this normal?   We do have one area around here that has that issue frequently but other than that one area we are lucky.

Dear Lynn,

Makes you appreciate the other 364 days a year that you get fairly decent water out of the faucet, no? If they suggest to boil, I would guess it is biological contamination.

Wow, Lynn, I have never heard of anything like this, clearly contaminated water is not what you would want to enjoy, now boiling is great if you are cooking, what about if you want to take a shower? Endre
