Mind your manners…Don’t be a Keyboard Warrior! Weltanschauung 101

Dear Readers -
Diana Zaccaro from Cocoa Beach FL boiled down the Weltanschauung to a powerful and clear statement -one we may all benefit from remembering:

“Mind your manners…Don’t be a Keyboard Warrior!”.

Diana Zaccaro   writes in a concise manner, making strong points as she does. In her profile, she states, " I believe in specializing in what you know and, since I’ve lived and worked on the beach for so many years, I consider myself an expert on the local area."

Her knowledge of Cocoa Beach FL benefits her Clients and others who read her posts. See what you think of these:

Mind your manners…Don’t be a Keyboard Warrior! Weltanschauung 101

“What’s a Weltanschauung” is often the first question new members ask when they hear the word.

Weltanschauung is defined as “the guiding principles and philosophy of an organization; a world view”.

The ActiveRain Weltanschauung consists of ten (10) principles that all members are expected to read and follow. We have been asked to choose one of the ten principles and share our thoughts on it. While that sounds simple, it is not as easy to do as it sounds.

#8 has always resonated with me and if you’ve spent a little bit of time on ActiveRain, you will understand why. If you are new to AR, you will probably soon understand.

Weltanschauung #8 states:

We believe in spirited discourse, but personal attacks or predatory behavior will not be tolerated. Respect and civility are the shared values that unite us all”.

Or…my concise version of it is “Mind your manners…Don’t be a Keyboard Warrior!”. All too often on social media sites there are dissenting opinions in discussions that lead to the “keyboard warriors” jumping into action and, sometimes even result in bullying.

While ActiveRain is a professional site for real estate professionals and those in related industries, sad to say there are times when a lively discussion goes bad and gets out of hand. To prevent those types of exchanges, it is important to remember that we must be respectful and civil to others while voicing our opposing opinions. It’s easy to do…just remember to

Mind your manners…Don’t be a Keyboard Warrior!

Some people use social media as a place to "act out"....clearly, this is NOT the place !

Nicely done by Diana Zaccaro. It makes Weltanschauung very simple and easy to understand.

Love Diana and her summation is spot-on, Lynn! I see so much more of the keyboard warrior on FB & Twitter than here - thank goodness! I think that's why we love it here - we treat one another with respect and as professionals.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh, that's fantastic, Lynn! Loved that restaurant and I'm sure your grandson did too! Makes me smile that you have fond memories of our gathering too!

Enjoy your time with your grandson this weekend...

Tammy Lankford,

Not sure if your comment was directed to me or Lynn but I'm doing well and hope Lynn is the same!
