Atlanta Beltline Basics include Community Activities Part One
Join ODAT Realty as we begin our series about the Atlanta BeltLine. The Beltline defines itself as "a 22-mile loop of historic railroad that encircles downtown and midtown Atlanta, with a radius of two-to-four miles from Atlanta's center. Over 100,000 people live within half a mile of the Atlanta BeltLine, which connects 45 of the city's in-town neighborhoods."
The Atlanta Beltline project has two separate but equal (no, this is not the intro to LAW and ORDER) components. The Beltline public component is the Atlanta Beltline Partnership whose mission is to reach out to the greater Atlanta community to raise awareness of the Beltline and raise contributions of money and of community support. The private component is the Atlanta Beltline, Inc. whose mission is to plan, implement and build the Beltline.
The Atlanta Beltline Partnership offers many community activities. Our focus today is the annual Atlanta Beltline Northside 5K to be held on April 28, 2012. The Run/Walk follows the Beltline Northside Trail and then passes through Collier Hills, Collier Hills North and the Ardmore neighborhoods. The Atlanta Beltline offers a comprehensive and complete map for the participants to show the route clearly.
Participation is limited to 700 folks due to route constraints. Participants may register online or at two stores. The entry fee is $30. Registration fees benefit the Atlanta Beltline Partnership's annual Fundraising efforts for Beltline programs that include the amazing Beltline Tour and other public outreach activities.
Don't miss the opportunity to be involved with a stellar aspect of good city planning. Sign up for the Atlanta Beltline Northside 5K today!
Have a happy day -
Lynn
