Atlanta Buckhead - Hunt/Fish License
Major Fee Increase on July 1st
Living in Atlanta Buckhead offers many diversions. Although fishing is available inside Atlanta, you may have to go elsewhere to hunt.
Remember - both recreations require state-issued licenses.
As of July 1, 2017, Fees will be higher whether you apply online or you go in person for your license in Atlanta at a State-run licensing location, such as the Department of Natural Resources (404- 463-2881), located near the Capital or go to a retail location such as Dick's Sports or Wal-Mart, the fees will be higher. Some would say significantly higher. See the chart of Fee changes below.
Wonder what the difference* is between the Hunting and Fishing Combination License and the Sportsman's License?
Bill Couch NGTO answers:
"Both the Sportsman's License and Combination Hunting and Fishing Licenses are available to Georgia Residents.
"The Combination Hunting and Fishing License covers BASIC hunting and BASIC fishing privileges. It DOES NOT permit the user to fish for trout, or hunt for waterfowl, big game, with primitive weapons, or on Wildlife Management Areas.
"The SPORTSMAN LICENSE is a single license that covers all hunting and fishing privileges (except Alligator License & Federal Duck Stamp). This specifically includes the H.I.P Permit and Hunting, Primitive Weapons, Big Game, WMA, Georgia Waterfowl Conservation, Fishing and Trout Licenses."
This may be the year to check out a Lifetime Sportsman's License for your own use or other family members or friends. Great gift idea ---
