The future Buyer will be able to use the home he is selling as a virtual "store" to furnish his new, easy-living, one-story home! He may pick and choose what he takes to the new house, arrange what he wants there and enjoy every day! Close to his current home, he may continue to pare down his existing possessions to stage his current home!
After moving into the "new" home, his two-story home will go on the Market. Anxious to save the maximum he can on Property Taxes, I explained the details about applying for a Homestead Exemption to him. Staying in the same County, he will continue to pay Property Taxes in DeKalb County which offers a deduction against the Base Assessment as does the City of Dunwoody! He was very excited and understands that to receive his 2020 reduction, he must own and be sleeping in the new home by December 31, 2019!
